Useful information for learning about and appreciating the Reserve. Read the rules carefully to respect the environment and protect nature.

Arriving from Messina

To get to the Reserve, from Messina take the A20 (Messina-Palermo) highway towards Palermo. Then exit at the Falcone junction: from here turn left and continue in the direction of Montalbano Elicona. Continuing for about 20 km, past the towns of "Santa Barbara" and "Pellizzaro" along provincial roads, you reach the town of Montalbano Elicona. Continuing south along SP110, follow the signpost in the direction of "Riserva Nat. Malabotta," until it intersects with SP115, which runs along the Nature Reserve. On this road is the northern entrance to the Reserve, marked by the presence of the official sign.

Arriving from Catania

To get to the Reserve, from Catania take the A18 (Catania-Messina) highway towards Messina. Then exit at the Fiumefreddo junction: from here, at the traffic circle, take the second exit and take the SS120. Upon reaching the town of Randazzo, take the SS116 to the hamlet of Favoscuro, from here take the SP122 and then the SP115 to the northern entrance of the Reserve.
